A commitment to responsible production and the environment

At CampbellTD all the equipment is run from solar power. We have 16,500 watts of used solar panels charging a 61,000kWh battery bank. The used panels meet all our power needs while reducing needless disposal in a landfill.

Keeping our energy use to a minimum

Even though we are powered by the sun we try to ease the demands of the solar system by using natural light in the scene shop. The shop was built with large skylights that keep the shop well lit throughout the day. During the winter the skylights actually help keep the building at a reasonable temperature.

Rain water collection and land management

Even though we have a well onsite, we collect rainwater from the roof of the shop. It is then stored in a 3000 gallon tank. This water is then used to take care of a sounder of pigs that are currently regenerating 3 acres of land that will become a Christmas tree farm. Each year, one of the full grown 400 lbs. pigs will be donated to families in need in the South Central Virginia area.

We have a CNC router that is powered by solar and housed in a “building” made from two used shipping containers that have been welded together.
